A landmark. A marker.

A reminder. A memento.

A memorial. A monument. A souvenir.

Treasures are left over.

Houses are left abandoned.

 

I am trying to transcribe the echoes of the past into a piece of embroidery. Leaving threads and signs. Systematically.

Inviting others to share a language about humankind. The X – the black cross next to many others, represents the days, the years, the counting of minutes … the passing of time, the measuring of space and objects. Persevering and preserving important records.
